Key Facts – Locality 1
- The locality forms the northern part of the district and
contains the most 'town' like village in South Staffordshire -
Penkridge. The locality also contains some of the most remote parts
of the district.
- ‘Locality 1 borders Cannock Chase forest and includes part of
the Cannock Chase Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), which
is managed jointly by Cannock Chase District Council and South
Staffordshire Council. It also includes Shoal Hill Common
which was declared a Local Nature Reserve in 2007.’
- The average point score of students taking ‘A’ Levels is the
highest of any of the high schools in South Staffordshire.
- The Locality is covered by Staffordshire Police’s Watling Local
Policing Unit (LPU) and is part of the Chase Division.
